Un pò di notizie sul dietro le quinte di IMPACT Wrestling (non è ancora ufficiale il cambio di nome, ma dovrò abituarmi a non chiamarla più TNA):

FORMER GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING PLAY-BY-PLAY POSSIBLY JOINING IMPACT WRESTLING?

Former GFW play-by-play announcer Cyrus Fees is now following IMPACT Wrestling on Twitter. This coming at a time when Jeff Jarrett has taken over as the Executive Producer of Impact Wrestling and is bringing in wholesale changes in the backroom staff.

Fees is a 33 year old who has worked for several mixed martial arts promotions as both a ring announcer and play-by-play announcer. He is also former President of The Hip Show Arena Combat International. Fees also worked as a play-by-play commentator for South African based EFC Worldwide. He got his announcing and commentating start for NWA Smoky Mountain.

Fees announced at GFW's first set of tapings with former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen who is now with Bellator.

NEW PRODUCERS, CONTRACT UPDATES AND POSITIONS

* Mike Johnson reported that going forward the TNA Creative team will be Jeff Jarrett as Executive Producer/Head of Creative with Dutch Mantell and Scott D'Amore assisting him. They are also looking into hiring a script writer who can write a format for the shows.
* Abyss, Jeremy Borash, and Rockstar Spud have all been given a promotion and are now the producers.
* He said he's not even sure if Drew Galloway has been offered a new deal by the company, Mike Johnson calling them bat-shit crazy not too. Mike Johnson has been bigging up Galloway recently, however Anthem are said not to be happy with Galloway for leaking contract details in an interview with PWInsider which automatically signals a lack of trust.
However The Hardys make the company money and are legitimate draws as you will see over the next few weeks, they are still in talks with them about new deals but there is a lot going into that as far as the Broken Universe and it not really being in the Jarrett/Mantell wheelhouse of booking. Talks are said to be going good.
* Feeling is that parity 50/50 booking is out the door and they'll be using a more traditional strategy. Storylines and booking will focus on guys in line for a push.
* Hasn't heard anything about Jarrett coming back to wrestle. No interest there.
* Matt Conway's role up in the air. Some believe he's already left the company to take a position elsewhere. Others say it's not sorted yet. Nothing official yet.
* John Gaburick is staying with TNA for now, even though most thought that'd be be one of the first cut. All signs are that he's negotiated a new deal to take a lesser role in production - no longer involved in creative and Jeff Jarrett did take his job. So he's been demoted.
* Hasn't heard anything about Madison Rayne's role. Was never really an official member of the creative team, but rather a liaison of sorts.
* Johnson has been told that discussions have even reached the "agreed to terms" point, but nothing has been signed. With that said, Johnson goes into a rant on how he doesn't think Dutch will fully embrace the Broken Universe anyway.
* The current pitch is to run shows in June at the earliest. In line with what Meltzer said, believes Anthem is about the bottom line and some cutbacks will be made.

Jeff Jarrett oggi andrà in UK per parlare di accordi tv, probabilmente con ITV. Per me è molto probabile che decideranno di fare uno show simile al Ring Ka King, quindi niente Amped o Impact (per ora).
Matt Morgan ha postato una foto su Instagram, facendo presupporre un suo imminente ritorno sulle scene, probabilmente ritornerà ad Impact a partire dai prossimi tapings.
Moose, Eddie Edwards e James Storm parteciperanno allo show del 14 marzo della NOAH, i loro avversari sono ancora da annunciare.

The highlights being:

They're confident they'll have a new TV deal in the UK soon.

They'll be doing house shows this year. First one is hopefully getting announced within the next 30 days.

The plan is to make the app available worldwide in the future.

They'll be going to India this year. May not necessarily be a tour, but they'll be doing something.

Si, dopo che la WWE lo ha rifiutato non poteva fare altro che tornare ad Impact. Intanto emergono nuove indiscrezioni riguardante Anthem-Jarrett-ITV: sembre che Anthem acquisterà parte della WOS per farla trasmettere sui loro canali (quindi arriverà anche da noi in Italia), mentre ITV trasmetterà anche Impact.

IMPACT WRESTLING POSSIBLY BACK ON PARAMOUNT NETWORK (SPIKE TV) IN 2018?

A Spike TV official has been backstage at more than one Impact Wrestling taping. They have been described as friendly visits. Obviously, Impact is looking at TV deals outside of the United States but they also need to secure their United States TV deal for 2018. The current deal with Pop TV is a barter deal so, unless Pop is willing to start paying money to keep Impact Wrestling, I think they will probably land on another network next year. Spike TV would be a huge upgrade and would help bring them a larger audience. It does help that Dixie Carter is out of the picture. Many people point to Dixie Carter being the main reason why Impact was kicked off Spike TV and there were business people that did not want to associate with the company as long as Dixie Carter was in charge.

Jarrett sembra voglia almeno muoversi per fare qualcosa, provarci a rilanciare il brand. Il materiale per ora è deficitario, ma già il rimettere in sesto la formazione del booking team "storico", dei suoi uomini fidati insomma, e questi meeting con i vari network, insomma è ben importante.
